Moving to Covington, LA
Covington was settled in the early 1800s near what is known today as "Downtown Covington." Covington was a bustling commerce city, taking advantage of the Bogue Falaya River and Techefucnte River for transportation and easy passage. In addition to utilizing river and waterways for economic activity, there was an active railroad in the late 1800s (which was replaced by the Tammany Trace, a biking and walking trail that runs throughout St. Tammany Parish).
Today, Covington is a charming Southern city with everything from upscale shopping to traditional hardware stores and weekly farmers markets.
