Ozone Action Day

In case you didn’t know, the state of Louisiana has issued Friday, May 6th 2011 an “Ozone Action Day.” According to www.nola.com, “Calm winds will limit pollution dispersement, combined with sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s should enhance formation of ozone.” Apparently the conditions outside will be unhealthy for the community, and the Air Quality Index will be at an Orange level.

The following parishes should take caution: Orleans, Jefferson, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany, St. Bernard, and Plaquemines. We would like to advise anyone who suffers from asthma, or any disease that affects your respiratory system to take caution when being outside for an extended period of time.
