Keep Safe, New Orleans

Good evening New Orleans,

We have to address the 800 lb gorilla in the room. Tropical Storm Isaac is on it's way to make landfall later today one day away from the 7th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Isaac's path is so similar to Katrina's that it's scary. However most forecasts are saying it wouldn't reach the velocity and density that Katrina had in 2005.

Hug-Condon has maintained our operations are your local New Orleans movers since 1960 and we won't back down from another big storm.

In anticipation of the upcoming storm be prepared for the best and the worst. You should have your emergency rations packed well in advanced. The following list is from the experts at weather.com:

  • A week's worth of water - a gallon per person per day
  • Non-perishable food
  • Formula and diapers
  • Hand can opener
  • First-aid kit
  • Prescription medicines
  • Extra batteries
  • Battery powered flashlights and radios

We hope that no evacuation orders are sent out and everyone is safe. Schools are closing early and parents should be there to reassure their children.

Hurricane Warnings are in effect for the Gulf side of Louisiana. Keep safe everyone and stay resilient.
